【摘要】:ThisPublishedDocument(PD)isintendedtoprovideguidancetodesigners,regulatorsandfiresafetyprofessionalsontheengineeringmethodsavailablefortheevaluationoflifesafetyaspectsofafiresafetyengineeringdesigninrelationtoevacuationstrategies.Shouldafireoccurinwhichoccupantsmightbeexposedtofireeffluentand/orheat,theobjectiveofthefiresafetyengineeringstrategyistoensurethatsuchexposuredoesnotsignificantlyimpedeorpreventthesafeescape(ifrequired)ofessentiallyalloccupants,withouttheirexperiencingordevelopingserioushealtheffects.Adviceispresentedontheevaluationandmanagementofoccupantbehaviour,particularlyescapebehaviour,duringafireemergencyandfortheevaluationofoccupantcondition,particularlyinrelationtoexposuretofireeffluentandheat.ThisPublishedDocumentaddressestheparametersthatunderliethebasicprinciplesofdesigningforlifesafetyandprovidesguidanceontheprocesses,assessmentsandcalculationsnecessarytodeterminethelocationandconditionoftheoccupantsofthebuilding,withrespecttotime.ThisPublishedDocumentalsoprovidesaframeworkforreviewingthesuitabilityofanengineeringmethodforassessingthelifesafetypotentialofabuildingforitsoccupants.
